Saturday (7-1)

Travel day (to Houston)

Afternoon run – :45 in like 95+ degree heat and Houston-style humidity; honestly, loved it

Sunday (7-2)

Morning run – 1:15; have I mentioned that I hate running alone?

Monday (7-3)

Morning run – 1:30; the rolling hills in Schulenburg, TX are absolutely gorgeous to run through, albeit a bit hot

Tuesday (7-4)

Morning workout – 15 minutes out hard, 12 minutes back harder; I went out in slightly sub-7s and came back in slightly sub 6s. The 12 minutes back are supposed to get me to where I started, but I was about 200 meters short, which I’ll attribute to the decent headwind coming back

Wednesday (7-5)

Morning run – :35

Travel day (to State College)

Thursday (7-6)

Morning core and stretching

Noon run – :35, 7:30s

Afternoon workout – 1:15 with 6 x minute bumps thrown in; averaged 7:30 for the run

Friday (7-7)

Morning core and stretching

Noon run – :30, 7:30s

Saturday (7-8)

Morning run – 3:00, 7:35 overall pace; felt good to get back in the swing of things with a long run

Sunday (7-9)

Morning run – 1:40, 7:50 pace; legs felt a little heavy from yesterday, but even with lots of hills out on the Tussey course, still felt not bad

Monday (7-10)

Morning core and stretching, weights (legs)

Noon run – :35

Tuesdsay (7-11)

Morning core and stretching

Noon workout – 8 x ~50 second hills

Afternoon workout – 6 x 800 at 2:41 to 2:46

Wednesday (7-12)

Morning core and stretching, weights (legs)

Noon run – :40; legs are tired (not surprising)

Thursday

Morning core and stretching

Noon workout – :25 tempo at 6:05 to 6:10 (not perfectly sure where I finished); for having a pretty heavy week early in the season, I’ll take it

Friday (7-14)

Off (travel day to Iowa)

Saturday (7-15)

Morning run – 2:30 at 7:45s with my mom on the pace bike along the Des Moines river; super pretty run

Sunday (7-16)

(Travel day to State College)

Afternoon workout – :30 tempo at 6:20s (blech) – essentially stepped off the plane into a tempo and it went as expected

Monday (7-17)

Morning stretching and core, weights (legs)

Noon run – :35

Tuesday (7-18)

Morning stretching and core

Noon workout – 6 x minute hill (N Curtin)

Afternoon workout – 400,800,1200,1600,1200,800,400; nothing was slower than a 2:52/800 pace, so I guess it was pretty good for being a second workout in a day with 90 heat and some humidity

Wednesday (7-19)

Morning stretching and core, weights (legs)

Noon run – :45

Thursday (7-20)

Morning stretching and core

Noon workout – 15 minutes out, 12 minutes back at 6:20; I was probably about a minute short from being completely back again. I definitely need to go out slower since I ended up coming back in 6’s

Afternoon workout – 8 x minute hills; wanted to do 10, but even during my warmup, I felt like I was already breathing heavy – only two more workout doubles until AFTR

Friday (7-21)

Morning stretching and core

Afternoon run – :35 easy

Saturday (7-22)

Morning run – 1:45 at 7:10 pace; last two or three miles were at 6:30 and below. It felt pretty good after a decently heavy training week

Sunday (7-23)

Morning run – 2:30 at 7:50; we started at 11 so it was already pretty hot, but it felt like we moved through it pretty well. Even though it was kind of a short weekend (32 miles), I feel like it was still positive

Monday (7-24)

Morning stretching and core, weights (legs)

Noon run – 1:00
