Sports have always been an important part of my life, but I didn’t starting competitively running until my freshman year of college. When I started running, I discovered the missing component of my life, and I haven’t looked back. I started competitively racing ultras during my first year as a grad student at Penn State. While the training is long and the glory is small, there’s a fulfillment that you can get from ultra that you just can’t get anywhere else.
Before coming out to State College in August 2014 to start my PhD in chemical engineering, I graduated from Beloit College in Beloit, WI (B.S., Physics). Currently, I am a third year graduate student studying optimization and characterization techniques in organic solar cells.
